2020-2021 CYO Try-Outs

OLSS will be holding CYO basketball try-outs on October 3rd, 4th and 5th at the CYO-MIV Center's outdoor courts at Mount Loretto.

Due to limited availability of the courts, we will only be holding tryouts for the teams that require tryouts due to having enough registered players to make multiple teams. This means that not every team will receive a tryout as there are only enough players registered to form one team.

Please see the above tryout schedule. If you do not see your child's grade listed then congratulations they made the team and their coach will be reaching out to you in the coming weeks. If you do see your child's grade listed please make sure to arrive15 minutes before the designated time to complete check in.

Please remember that your child must attend BOTH tryouts in order to make a team. That being said. if your child is sick DO NOT send them to tryouts. Just let us know and we will work it out with you and the coaches.

As we are still in a time where COVID is a risk, we will be taking the following precautions to minimize the risk to you and your children:

  1. Only players and coaches will be allowed into the court area. We also ask that only one parent be present with their child through the tryout period. Parents will be asked to wait in the parking lot or outside the fence surrounding the courts as to not cause congestion at the entrance and exit.

  2. Facemasks must be worn by all parents, players and coaches while they are outside the court. Once inside the court the players and coaches will be instructed to take off their masks for the duration of the tryout.

  3. We will be taking temperature checks of all players, coaches and staff that enter the court.

  4. Every 15 minutes we will take a water break where players will be instructed to sanitize their hands with provided hand sanitizer. The coach will also be instructed to wipe down the basketballs at this time.

In addition CYO has asked that each player bring a canned good or a box of pasta or cereal when they come to tryout. They are holding a collecting for the food pantry to help those in need during this time.
